One of the most important functions of MATLAB is the Control System that allows for easy editing of these pages. This guide presents some easy to follow tips on how to use this system.
First, you should be able to open a simple document in the Matlab Editor before you can actually add content to it. The word “simple” here is used intentionally because it takes some time to learn the basics of the editor and its basic commands. You should be able to convert text to HTML format using the “htmlize” command or you can directly edit it using the “save as” command. After you have converted it, you should be able to save the HTML document as an image file using the “save as” command or choose to convert it to PDF format.
The next step in this process is to open the MATLAB Editor and begin adding the required content to the page. Select the “Web” tab on the upper left of the MATLAB Editor. From the drop down menu, select “View” and select “Index” from the “Add content…” drop down menu.
You will see the “Index” tab on the bottom right of the MATLAB Editor. Select “HTML” from the drop down menu and then “Add new page.” A dialog box will appear where you will enter the content of the page.
There are two major functions of the MATLAB control system. The first function is called the “Appearance Editor.” This functionality includes the ability to customize the default colors of the control points. You can also customize the style and color of any other MATLAB controls that are present on the page.
The second function of the MATLAB control system is called the “Text Editor.” This functionality is where you can input the appropriate text for the page. You can enter any type of text that you wish such as “hello world,” “value for the x-axis,” or “variable for the y-axis.”
When you change any of the text that is in the Control System, it will be displayed in the Control Points box in the HTML editor. The appearance of the text is based on the current default color scheme. You can change the color scheme by choosing the “Change Color Scheme” button on the toolbar.
When you have changed the text, click the “Save As” button to save the HTML file to your computer. Alternatively, you can save the file to your hard drive by selecting the “Save As” option from the drop down menu. You can change the date format on the saved file to another format by going to the “Options” menu on the lower left of the MATLAB Editor.
The last step in the process is to preview the final project. On the MATLAB Editor toolbar, you should see the “Preview” button. Clicking this button will bring up a graphic, which displays a mock up of the page as it appears in the MATLAB Editor.
Once you have made the changes, you can click the “Save” button at the bottom of the “Preview” graphic and then click the “OK” button at the bottom of the graphic. When you preview the final project, you will find that the entire process from opening a page in the MATLAB Editor to saving it to the hard drive is about 5 minutes.
The MATLAB Control System has many uses. It allows you to easily customize the appearance of your pages and you can even customize the default styles and colors of the buttons and other controls that you can add to your website.
