So if you want to learn how to create a SQL database with Matlab, you need to download and install the Matlab tools. This will allow you to be able to use the MATLAB command language, with a ‘Model’ option, allowing you to configure your database model. You should select the SQL Language from the list on the Model tab.
The format of the database, you will create depends on the type of tables you are setting up, as each table in SQL is a separate entity. There are two different types of tables, with the primary key, and without. Make sure you understand this before starting, otherwise, you may end up creating an incorrect set of tables that you will not be able to change later.
The first step to completing a database, is to open a blank SQL file, which you can do with Matlab. To do this, right click on the program, and select the “Open SQL File” option.
In the SQL connection window, you should choose the “Database” option. When this is done, the window will display the ‘server’ icon, as well as the ‘connection string’ for the current database, as well as the program’s login name and password. When you have found the server, go to the ‘data source’ menu, and select ‘connect’. After selecting this, you should get the standard ‘Connecting to’.
Once connected, you should now be able to start adding data into the database with the program’s users. While the user is logged in, you should click on the ‘row/column’ menu on the main window and then select ‘add’. This should bring up a dialog box, where you can enter the data required for the row.
To add data, you will need to fill in the ‘name’ field, and then the ‘user’s details’, and finally the ‘row/columns’ boxes. Finally, you should give it a name and enter a password in to help protect the file from being accidentally edited.
Next, you should go to the Control Panel window, and you should look at the “Add/Remove Programs” section. If you do not have any Add/Remove Programs, you should download and install them from the internet.
The Add/Remove Programs should contain the functions ‘add’, ‘remove’, and ‘uninstall’. You should click on ‘add’ and then choose the SQL Database option. When you have completed the process, it should allow you to remove the program.
Next, you should go to the ‘User’s’ window, and you should find the ‘profile’ section. You should click on the ‘profile’ button, and the profile should be added.
The next step is to add the tables that will be used in the database. If you are just creating a simple database, you should add all the standard tables, which are:
Finally, you should click on the ‘add’ button, and you should find all the additional commands that you will need to write into the SQL command-line. You should always be able to write your SQL commands in a ‘VBA’Visual Basic Editor’ file, which is a separate file that can be edited, and saved separately from the rest of the MS SQL codes.
